Well – it caught your attention….
On Saturday the 15th – the NYIBC had their annual get-together at Bethpage Ballpark – to watch our Long Island Ducks face another Atlantic League challenge.
As with our annual July event, it started with a All-You-Can-Eat picnic before the game began. Over 50 represented the Blue and Orange on this evening. This picnic, which happens before every Ducks home contest, is a real treat. I highly recommend visiting it – the next time you are in a group outing (you need 50 or more in your group to go – and it is $35 a person – but it is totally well worth it).
Then – after filling ourselves with great food and conversation – it was to our seats to watch the game. I am sure that you all have attended a Ducks game or two over the past 17 years. It never ceases to be a great time. The Ducks work the crowd, do lots of great promotions, have even more tasty treats available on the concourse, and are a great bang for the buck.
And of course – we get a shout out too….
As far as the ball game was concerned, the Ducks played a great game, defeating the Somerset Patriots, 7-4. Dan Lyons hit a home run, and Rafael Perez struck out eight in six innings to get the victory. After the game – as it is a Saturday tradition, fireworks lit up the Central Islip skies. Win or lose, rain or shine, Saturday nights are special at Bethpage Ballpark.
The Booster Club is having one more outing to Bethpage Ballpark. This game we do not do the picnic; it will be just the ticket and fireworks following the conclusion of the game. The cost of these tickets is $15 a piece. If you are interested, please e-mail Claire Harding, our club President (nyibcprez@gmail.com), and let her know. We have to get the ticket request in by early August, so please get involved now. Maybe, we will take a picture with YOU in it. (see below). Hope to see you!
